This afternoon we went to Wall Ga, a design firm in Seoul. Sungchil Park is the principle architect and designer. He was at his other firm but flew back to meet us and give a lecture on his designs! The firm was welcoming and gave us treats and drinks during the lecture. His concepts and designs were inspirational. The attention he gave to detail is something every designer should strive for.
One point he made: although harmony and balance are important, there is something beautiful about designs that don't have balance and harmony. This really made me think.
When we asked him questions, we asked what he looks for when hiring an employee. His response: "I like to hire beautiful women and handsome men... They inspire me." That got us all laughing!
