The day started off really early. We met at 6:30 am in the lobby of the hotel. We had to leave our large luggage at the hotel and pack a small bag for a few days of traveling other places in Korea.
This morning we visited Sangmyung University. It took a little over an hour to travel to the campus. While there, we visited their College of Design. Some of the majors they offer there include interior design, industrial design, fashion, and textiles. Their building is full of studios and classrooms full of energetic creativity! The professors and students were very welcoming and kind to us. Three groups of students presented a project they did while working with Kansas State students last year. The project was to design a LG kiosk located on Kansas City. The students who were presenting were okay with their English. It was neat to see their projects in comparison to ours. Their graphic layouts were attractive, as well as their detailed study models. After looking at more projects, we took a walk with one of their professors to visit their university botanical gardens. It was a beautiful place!
Soon after, their students, professors, and our group took a bus to a local buffet. It was very generous of them to treat us to a delightful lunch. The buffet was the most incredible one I have ever been to! The large selection of sushi and sashimi was mouthwatering. We had oodles and oodles of traditional Korean food options. The desserts were delightful! Not only was the food amazing, the design of the restaurant was elegant and beautiful! We had a great time with the students and professors!
