This morning we met in the lobby at 8 am. I couldn't sleep for some reason so I woke up at 2:30am. I'm getting really exhausted and it isn't even lunch time! I grabbed coffee, fruit, and a muffin at the hotel before leaving for the day. It was expensive!!
We took a bus to a city about an hour outside of Seoul. Everyone rushing to work in the morning made it a chaotic mess to travel! I took this city to be more of a suburb of Seoul...
Here, we went to Green Tomorrow, a zero energy house (LEED platinum). This is the first house in Korea that is LEED certified! Samsung was the key contributor to this project. The tour guides spoke only in Korean so we couldn't follow what they were saying at all. There were a few signs in English, which helped us understand some of it. When I do more research on the design, I will let you know more about the details of why the house was certified LEED platinum:)
The design aesthetic was impeccable. Simply stunning. Most furniture was made from recycled wood. Pillows and other accessories were all environmentally friendly. Natural light was brought through the design in the most elegant way.
I wish the pictures did justice for the design but, unfortunately they just can't. I guess you all will have to fly over to Korea so I can show it to you in person! At the end of the tour, we were given recycled tote bags as gifts for visiting!
